About this tour
The classic day in north Cappadocia. Start in the Göreme Open-Air Museum, a UNESCO-listed cluster of rock-cut churches whose Byzantine frescoes have survived for a thousand years. Walk among the mushroom-capped fairy chimneys of Paşabağ, find animal shapes in the rocks of Devrent Valley, and stop in Avanos, the riverside town that has made pottery from Kızılırmak clay since the Hittites. The day ends at the Uçhisar Castle viewpoint above Pigeon Valley. A licensed local guide explains how volcanic ash, wind and early Christians shaped the valleys. The tour runs every day in a small group of up to eight guests, collected from your hotel; a private tour just for your party is available on request.

What is the difference between the Red and Green tours?
The Red Tour stays in north Cappadocia around Göreme — rock churches and fairy chimneys with short walks. The Green Tour goes south to an underground city and Ihlara Valley, with a longer walk. Many guests do one on each day.
Are museum tickets included?
Yes. All entrance tickets, including the Göreme Open-Air Museum, are in the price, so there is nothing to pay on the day.
Can I combine it with a balloon flight?
Yes. Fly at sunrise, have breakfast at your hotel and join the Red Tour at 09:30. Ask for both in one quote.
Is it suitable for children and older travellers?
Yes. Walks are short and mostly on paths; some churches in the Open-Air Museum are reached by a few steps.
