South Cappadocia in one day. After the Göreme panorama, descend into the Derinkuyu underground city, where families carved stables, chapels and air shafts several storeys down into the soft rock to hide from raids. Then walk through Ihlara Valley, a green canyon cut by the Melendiz stream, passing rock churches on the way to lunch by the water in Belisırma. The last stop is Selime Monastery, a cathedral-sized complex carved into the cliff, before a photo stop at Pigeon Valley on the way back. A licensed local guide leads the day and a private vehicle takes you from and back to your hotel.
Your guide and driver collect you from your hotel.
Short stop above the Göreme valleys.
Several levels of tunnels, stables and chapels carved into the rock.
Riverside path through the canyon, past rock-cut churches.
Lunch by the stream at the end of the walk.
The largest rock-cut monastery in Cappadocia.
Photo stop on the way back.
Drop-off in Göreme, Uçhisar, Ürgüp or Avanos.
The riverside path is flat and about 3–4 km long, but the way down into the valley is a long staircase. Guests who prefer to skip the stairs can join the group at Belisırma.
Some passages are narrow and low. The guide keeps to the main levels and you can turn back at any point.
Your quote states whether site tickets are included. We can include them so there is nothing to pay on the day.
Either order works. If you only have one day, choose Red for fairy chimneys and rock churches, Green for the underground city and a canyon walk.
