Dalyan packs a lot into one day. A wooden river boat carries you through reed channels towards the Aegean, passing beneath the Lycian king tombs carved into the cliff above ancient Kaunos. At the Sultaniye springs you coat yourself in warm mud and rinse in the thermal pools, and after lunch by the water the boat reaches İztuzu, a long sandy beach between river and sea that is a protected nesting ground for loggerhead turtles. On the way back there is time to see the ruins of Kaunos up close. Pickup is from hotels in Fethiye, Ölüdeniz, Dalaman or Marmaris.
