Kadıköy, Asian SideA historic Victorian-era terminal on the Asian side of Istanbul (Kadıköy/Haydarpaşa). Less commonly used by large cruise ships. From here, a 20-minute ferry to Eminönü connects you to the historic peninsula. The building itself is a magnificent piece of 1909 German architecture.

Getting Around from Galataport
T1 Tram (Best for Sultanahmet)
Catch the T1 tram right outside the port at Tophane stop. Runs to Sultanahmet, Beyazit (Grand Bazaar), and Kabataş. Journey takes 12 minutes to Sultanahmet.
Walk to Galata Tower & Beyoglu
Galata Tower is 400m walk from the port — uphill through Galata district. From the top of Istiklal Ave you can walk down to the port in 20 min.
Private VIP Transfer
A pre-booked transfer from your cruise ship to any hotel, the airport, or a specific destination. Most reliable option if flying out same day or needing luggage-friendly transport. Fixed price, driver meets you at the terminal.
Taxi from Cruise Port
Available at the port gate. Use only yellow licensed taxis and insist on the meter. Expect a 5–10 min ride to Sultanahmet for around 200–350 TRY. Some drivers may try to overcharge tourists with flat rates — always ask for the meter.
Galataport to Istanbul Airport (IST) Transfer
Many cruise passengers fly home from Istanbul on the same day their ship docks. The Galataport-to-IST-Airport transfer is a very common journey. It takes 45–55 minutes in normal traffic (longer during peak hours 17:00–20:00).
